Yes. If you’re not at fault, you’re generally entitled to a like-for-like replacement vehicle while your truck is off the road. What should I do immediately after a truck accident?
Stop, check for injuries and call 000 if anyone is hurt. Make the scene safe with hazard lights and warning triangles. Exchange details with the other driver, take photos of the vehicles, the scene and the other driver’s licence and rego, and get contact details for any witnesses. Then call us on (02) 4633 6100. If you weren’t at fault, we can arrange towing and a replacement truck so you’re not stuck at the roadside.

What types of replacement trucks are available?

What does “like-for-like” mean for a commercial truck?
A vehicle that does the same job as yours: the same type of body, a similar size and payload, and the same key features such as a tail lift, refrigeration or crane. A refrigerated pantech operator gets a refrigerated pantech, not a dry van. Have your truck’s make, model, GVM and body specs ready when you call.
How long can I keep the replacement truck?
For as long as your truck is being repaired. If it’s written off, you keep the replacement until your truck is replaced. There’s no fixed end date.
Do you deliver the replacement truck?
Yes. I’m In The Right can deliver the replacement vehicle to you and collects it when your truck is back on the road, otherwise pick up is also available dependent on location.
