Can I book online?

Yes, but if you need multiple vehicles you can either fill in the quote form or directly call us on (02) 4633 6100 to proceed with your booking.

When will my booking be confirmed?

Once we’ve completed your booking with you over the phone, our team will send a confirmation email upon paying the applicable booking fee. If an email address is not available, then the reservation will be advised over the phone.

Can I choose the model of truck I want?

Yes, subject to the availability our rentals team will allocate the vehicle accordingly. When making your reservation, just let us know what you usually drive and we’ll aim to provide an exact or similar replacement vehicle. Take a look at our range of trucks

What do I need to bring to rent a truck?

Meet the renting location’s minimum age requirements which is 21.
Bring a valid driver’s licence of the correct class (C-class, Light Rigid, Medium Rigid, Heavy Rigid)
Bring a credit card in your name. Note that Southern Cross Truck Rentals require a rental bond in addition to the cost of rental amount.
Bring means of payment: we accept cash, Visa and Mastercard.

Can I rent a vehicle with a foreign licence?

Yes, if you are not Australian you can still rent most of our vehicles with any foreign licence, you don’t need an International Driver’s Licence. As long as your foreign licence provides and specifies the class equivalent to Australian licence class, you will be able to rent a vehicle with us. There is one exception: to hire our larger vehicles such as prime movers you do need an Australian licence of the correct class (Light Rigid, Medium Rigid, Heavy Rigid).

Rental Rates

Can I request rates without making a reservation?

Yes, definitely. You can call us to request rates or alternatively you can send us a quote request via the website. When you make an enquiry on our website, one of our friendly team members will give you a phone call to confirm your requirements. If you have any questions we’re more than happy to answer them, no obligation

What is the difference between daily, weekly and weekend rental rates?

We offer daily rates, which last for a period of 24 hours, weekday rentals, from Monday to Friday, 7-day weekly rates and weekend rates, which include Fridays to Sundays.

What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period for all of our vehicles is 24 hours so you can rent a truck for only one day if you wish. Contact us for our best one-day rental deals. Our 3 tonne pantechs have daily deals between Monday and Thursday from 08:00am to 16:30pm.

Is the rental period extendable?

In most cases, yes. Extensions are subject to availability but if you wish to extend your rental, just give us a call on (02) 4633 6100. We’ll usually confirm the details and new return date and time on the spot.

What are the rental terms and conditions?

A full copy of the terms and conditions is provided in the contract that is signed when collecting your vehicle. All vehicles have a Toll tag in the vehicle and the tolls are managed through the RMS (Roads and Maritime Service.)
